Chudheri Ice Cream Kulpo Phaluda

If you are walking down M G Road in Goregaon West, you might see us at Chudheri Ice Cream Kulpo Phaluda. It’s a busy stretch of road, always full of people looking for something or other. We focus mostly on our ice cream and the phaluda, which takes a bit of time to get right. My family has been doing this for a while, and we just stayed in this spot because people know where to find us. The summers are definitely our busiest time, obviously, but even when it rains, people come in for a treat. We have to keep the ice blocks and the syrups ready all day long. Sometimes the M G Road traffic is so loud we can barely hear what the customers are asking for, so we have to lean in and listen close. It’s not a fancy place with air conditioning or anything, just a regular shop where you can get something cold. We spend a lot of our mornings just prepping the ingredients and making sure the machines are working like they should. If a machine breaks down, it’s a real headache, so we try to be careful with them. It’s hard work, standing on your feet all day, but seeing the kids happy when they get their phaluda makes it feel okay. We just keep going, day after day.
