Chocolat

Our little place is called Chocolat and we are right on the Kurla Andheri Road. It’s a very busy stretch of road and there is always someone honking outside our door. We’ve been here for a while now and the shop has become a bit of a familiar sight for commuters. Inside it smells a lot better than it does outside because of the cocoa we use. We don't have a lot of space so we have to be smart about where we put the cooling racks and the display cases. It’s just a few of us running the show. We do the baking, the cleaning, and the selling ourselves. There’s no big management team behind us. Sometimes the humidity in the air makes the chocolate act funny and we have to adjust how we work. It’s a bit of a guessing game every morning when we open up. We have a few stools by the window where people can sit and watch the traffic while they eat. The floor is a bit worn down from all the feet walking over it but we think it gives the place character. We aren't trying to be the most famous shop in the city. We just want to make something that people enjoy when they’re having a long day. It’s a simple life and we like the routine of it. We keep the lights on late because that road never seems to sleep anyway. It works for us.
