Chirag Gosalia

I’m Chirag Gosalia, and I work out of Flat No 16 on the third floor of the Saraswa building. It’s in Santacruz West, right in the Kadugodi Industrial Area. If you know where Podar School is, we are just opposite that. It’s a bit of a climb up to the third floor, but the view of the street isn't too bad. The area is always buzzing with students and people heading to the industrial units. My space is pretty small and simple. I’ve got a desk and enough room to handle my daily tasks. It’s not a big corporate office with a lobby. It’s just where I do my business. Some days are quieter than others, depending on what projects are on the go. Being across from the school means there’s a lot of noise when the bells ring, but you get used to the rhythm of the neighborhood. I’ve been here for a while and most of the people in the building know me. We share the elevator and talk about the weather or the traffic. It’s a practical location for what I do. I don’t care much for having a lot of fancy furniture. I just need a place to sit and work. It’s an honest way to make a living and it keeps me connected to the local community here in Santacruz. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoons, but we just wait it out. It’s a regular life and I like the familiar faces I see every day around here.
