Chheda Super Mart

If you find yourself in Nehru Nagar, specifically on S. G. Barve Marg in Kurla East, you might see our office at D/16/17. Chheda Super Mart is run from this spot. It’s a very busy neighborhood, and there is always something going on right outside the door. Our office is where we handle the back-end stuff, like talking to suppliers and keeping the books straight. It’s not a very large space, so things can get a bit crowded when the deliveries arrive all at once. We’ve got stacks of boxes and crates that sometimes spill over into the walkway. We try to keep it organized, but in a fast-moving place like this, it’s a constant struggle. The staff is mostly made up of people from the local area who know the shortcuts around the traffic. We don't have a lot of bells and whistles in the office. It is mostly just desks, phones, and a very busy coffee machine. Most of the day is spent on the phone or checking invoices. It can get pretty loud with the street noise and the people passing by, but that is just part of being in Kurla East. We like the energy of the place. It keeps us on our toes. We don’t have a formal mission statement or anything like that; we just focus on getting the shelves stocked and the customers sorted out. It’s a lot of work but we keep at it every day.
