Chemfab Engineering

We are based in Powai, specifically inside the Ramkrishna Industrial Co-operative Society. Our unit is located right opposite Gate No 7. Because it is an industrial area, there is always the loud sound of machinery and heavy trucks moving around the narrow lanes. Chemfab Engineering is a small setup compared to some of the massive manufacturing plants nearby. We have a few older machines, some heavy workbenches, and usually a lot of metal scraps lying around on the floor. The air inside usually smells like machine oil and burnt metal, which is just how a proper engineering shop should be. We spend our days mostly on the shop floor, measuring metal parts or welding pieces together. It is dirty, physical work, and we usually end the day with grease on our clothes and hands. We are definitely not the kind of place that has a fancy office or central air conditioning. It gets pretty hot in here during the summer months, but we just keep the ceiling fans going and get on with the jobs we have on the list. We do not have a big sales team. Most of our work comes from other people in the neighborhood who know we are good with a lathe or a welding torch. We take things as they come and try to get the finished pieces out the door on time. Sometimes a job is more complicated than it first looked, but we just stay late and finish it.
