Charlene The Chocolate Factory

If you walk down Sherly Rajan Road and find the Nectar 1 building, you’ll see us at unit 301. It’s more of a workspace than a typical shop you’d see on the street. Being up on Museum Road in Bandra West gives Charlene The Chocolate Factory a bit of a different vibe. We spend our days mostly focused on the kitchen area. There’s always a timer going off or a tray that needs to be moved to the fridge. We do a lot of the packaging right on the central table. It’s a lot of cutting ribbons and folding boxes. Sometimes the delivery bikes are waiting downstairs and we’re rushing to finish the last few labels. It gets a bit hectic during the holidays, but the rest of the year is manageable. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who know where everything is kept. The walls are a bit plain and we’ve got stacks of cardboard boxes in the corner. It’s a practical space. We don't have a fancy showroom. Most people find us through word of mouth or because they live in the building nearby. We just focus on getting the orders out and making sure the kitchen is clean at the end of the shift. It’s a lot of standing on your feet and working with your hands. We’ve been at this for a while now and the routine has become second nature.
