Being near the Mumbai Pune bus stop in Dadar East means there is never a quiet moment here at Charan Tours & Travels. Our spot at number 13 in Phase Xi is basically right in the middle of all the commuters running to catch their next ride. You can hear the conductors shouting and the buses idling all day long from the front door. We spend most of our time at the desk handling tickets and telling people which platform they need to be on. The office has been in this part of Dadar for a long time and we have seen the area change quite a bit over the years. We mostly just keep our heads down and work through the stack of bookings that come in every morning. It's a simple setup with a couple of chairs for people to wait in while we check the latest timings on the computer. Sometimes people just stop by to ask for directions because of where we are located. We don't mind much as long as it isn't too crowded inside. The fans hum all afternoon to keep the heat away and we drink a lot of tea to stay awake during the slow hours between the morning and evening rush. It is a bit of a cramped space with all the ledgers and papers piled up but it works for what we need to do. We just keep the doors open and wait for the next traveler.
