Chandra Dairy

If you live around Malad West, you might have walked past us. Chandra Dairy is in Himmat Nagar, right at Shop Number 7 on the ground floor of the Valera building. We start our days very early, usually before the sun is even up, because that is when the milk arrives. It is a small shop, mostly filled with refrigerators and crates. There is always that smell of fresh milk and curd in the air. We have been part of this neighborhood for years. You get to know people’s names and what they buy every morning. Some want the thick milk for tea, others are looking for fresh paneer for dinner. We do not have a big marketing budget or anything like that. We just focus on keeping the fridge cold and the stock fresh. Himmat Nagar is a busy little pocket, and we are right in the thick of it. The Valera building is easy to find if you are looking for it. Sometimes we run out of things by the afternoon, especially on hot days when everyone wants lassi or cold drinks. We are not some big chain; it is just us here serving the local families.
