Chain Holidays

Chain Holidays is based right in the heart of Fort, at 200/202. If you’ve ever walked around Fort, you know the buildings are old and the stairs are usually quite steep. Our office is like that too, with high ceilings and old wooden windows that sometimes get stuck if it’s been raining. It’s a very busy part of Mumbai, so there’s always the sound of car horns and people shouting down on the street. Inside, we have desks piled with folders and stacks of paper because we still like to keep physical copies of everything. We spend a lot of time typing out itineraries and checking flight prices on those sites that seem to change every five minutes. It’s a bit of a grind, especially during the peak holiday seasons when everyone wants to go to the same places. We don’t have a fancy coffee machine or a modern lounge; we just have a kettle and some biscuits for when we take a break. Most of the people who stop by are working in the nearby offices and want to plan a quick getaway for the weekend. We don’t try to sell them anything they don’t need. We just look at the dates, see what fits their budget, and get the tickets printed out. It’s straightforward work and we’ve been doing it this way for years in this old building. It is a bit cramped but it serves us well enough.
