Buy My Flowers

Our place is at number 1, right near Vama at Bharati Vihar in Kemps Corner. It’s a bit of an interesting spot because Kemps Corner is usually quite posh, but we keep things very basic at Buy My Flowers. The shop is small and the doorway is a bit low, so you have to watch your head if you’re tall. We’ve been here for a while, just doing our thing. It’s mostly about getting the stems trimmed and making sure the jars are full. We don't have a big team or anything corporate. It’s usually just me sitting on a small stool near the back, working through the piles of green. The traffic outside can get pretty bad, so we hear a lot of horns all day long. Inside, it’s mostly quiet except for the sound of the scissors. We don't use any fancy language to describe what we do. People come in, they look at what’s on the bench, and they pick what they want. Sometimes we run out of the popular stuff by noon, and that’s just how it goes. I like the routine of it. Opening up, checking the water, and talking to the regular delivery guys. It’s a steady kind of life. We don't spend money on advertising; people just see the sign when they’re walking past Vama.
