S V Road is always a chaotic place to have a business. We are located right at Annadanappa Lane, and the noise from the traffic is something we’ve just gotten used to over the years. It’s a small shop, packed with glass cases that we spend half the day wiping down because of all the fingerprints. We get a lot of commuters who are just passing through and want something quick to eat before they hop back on a bus or a train. The morning starts early for us because there is always prep work to do in the back kitchen. It’s not a fancy setup by any means. We have old shelves and a floor that has seen better days, but it works for what we do. During the festival seasons, the place gets absolutely buried in boxes and people, and honestly, it can be hard to breathe sometimes. We just try to keep the lines moving and make sure everyone gets what they asked for. Occasionally we run out of change, which causes a bit of a stir at the register. It’s just one of those things. The neighbors are good people and they’ve been coming to us for a long time. We don’t bother with much advertising or anything like that. People just know where we are and what we have on the shelves. It is a bit dusty sometimes because of the roadwork, but we manage to stay open.
