Bombay Swadeshi Stores Limited

We are located in Western India House on Sir P. M. Road in the Fort area. This is a very old part of the city and our building has that classic look to it. Bombay Swadeshi Stores Limited has been around for a long time, and you can kind of feel that history when you walk through the doors. The high ceilings and the way the light hits the floorboards give it a certain atmosphere. We sell all sorts of things, mostly items that are made right here in the country. It’s a big space but it doesn’t feel cold or corporate. We have staff members who have been working here for decades, and they know where every single item is kept. Fort is always buzzing with people, lawyers from the courts, office workers, and tourists all walking by. Sometimes the noise from the street carries inside, but we don’t mind it. It’s part of being in the heart of the city. We don’t spend much time on fancy marketing or anything like that. We just keep the shelves stocked and help people find what they need. The store has its quirks, like the occasional squeaky floorboard or a shelf that’s a bit too high to reach without a stool. It’s an honest place with a lot of character. We just go about our business and try to keep things running smoothly like we always have. It is just a part of the city.
