Bombay Electric Supply & Transport Undertaking, Mumbai.

We are based out of the officer quarters in Pantnagar, Ghatkopar East. It’s a bit of a maze back here in the B.E.S.T. colony, but it’s home for us. Being part of the electric supply and transport system in Mumbai means we’re always on the move. Even when we are at the office in A2/18, there is always a phone ringing or someone coming in with a report. This city never stops, so the buses and the power can’t stop either. We handle a lot of the administrative side of things from this location. It’s a practical space, filled with old desks and stacks of paperwork that keep the city running. Most of the people working here have been with the undertaking for decades. We’ve seen Mumbai change quite a bit from our windows. The quarters are a bit older, and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it’s a solid building. We don’t have any fancy lobby or receptionists. If you need something, you just walk in and find the right desk. It’s a very local feel because everyone knows everyone else. We take our work seriously because we know how much people rely on the red buses and the power grid. It’s just a regular day of keeping things moving for the public. We like being part of how the city functions every single day without fail.
