Started on Stadium Road a few years back. Ratpakar building is old but it stays cool inside. People from Shreyas Colony stop by while walking their dogs. It is just me and one other person here mostly. We get the flowers around 5 am when the air is still a bit chilly. The ground floor spot is easy for people to just pop in and out. Sometimes it gets crowded with buckets everywhere. Water on the floor is a constant thing. You get used to the smell of stems and wet newspaper. Napean Sea Road is busy but our little corner feels quiet. We don't have fancy lights or anything. Just some tables and the inventory. It is a lot of cleaning. Cutting thorns takes up half the morning. Sometimes we run out of roses faster than expected and have to call the supplier again. It isn't a big operation. Just a local shop doing its thing day after day. We know most of the faces that pass by. The tea guy comes at ten. That is our break. Life here is mostly about making sure things don't wilt in the heat. It is honest work and it keeps us busy from morning till the sun goes down. Nothing more to it than that. We just focus on the daily tasks and hope the customers are satisfied with what they take home. It's a simple life.
