Bharat General Stores

Bharat General Stores has been sitting here at Shop No 1/2 on the ground floor for a good bit now. If you know Pushapam Estate in Malad East, then you probably know where we are. We're right near to Ramesh Hotel, which is a big landmark for anyone trying to find the shop. I spend most of my mornings just getting things ready and making sure the floor is swept before people start coming in. It’s not a very big place, just a regular shop where we keep the things people in the neighborhood usually look for. Sometimes the traffic outside on the street gets a bit loud, but that’s just how it is in this part of town. I’ve lived around here for a long time, so I know most of the faces that walk through the door. We don't really do much fancy stuff here. It's just about having the items on the shelves and being open when people need us. Pushapam Estate is a busy spot, and being on the ground floor makes it easy for the older folks to just step inside without any trouble. My brother helps out sometimes when it gets busy in the evenings after work hours. We usually keep the doors open until quite late because that’s when most people remember they forgot to buy something for their house. It’s a simple life running Bharat General Stores, just staying in one spot and talking to the neighbors every day.
