Bharat Dekho

We are set up on the ground floor of Building No 142 in the Fort area. It is one of those old buildings with high ceilings that you see all over this part of town. Being on the ground floor means people can just walk right in from the street, which happens a lot. We called the place Bharat Dekho because we mostly help people travel around the country. The office is a bit dark because the building next door is so close, but we have some good lamps on the desks. There is a lot of history in this neighborhood, and sometimes I take a walk around the block just to clear my head. Inside, we have maps pinned to the walls with little marks where our customers have gone. It is not a very modern setup; we still use a lot of paper and keep ledgers for the accounts. My desk is right by the entrance, so I see everyone who comes by. We have a small bench for visitors, but it usually ends up holding stacks of newspapers or old magazines. It gets a bit noisy with the city sounds outside, but you get used to it after a week or two. We are just regular people trying to make travel a bit easier for our neighbors and whoever else finds their way to Building 142.
