Beyond Bombay Tours

We’ve been running Beyond Bombay Tours out of our spot in Block No B/102 for a while now. It’s located in Jogeshwari Vikr, right in the Andheri East Malvani area. The office is nothing fancy, just a few desks and some maps on the walls. Most of the time we are out on the streets anyway. If you know Mumbai, you know how the traffic is around here, so we spend a lot of time planning routes that actually work. It’s mostly just a couple of us who know the city well enough to show people the bits that aren't in the usual books. We started this because we liked walking around ourselves and showing friends the hidden spots. Sometimes the office gets a bit dusty because of the construction nearby, but that’s just how it is in this part of town. We handle the bookings and talk to people about where they want to go. It isn't a massive operation with a call center or anything like that. When you call, one of us usually picks up. We try to keep things simple. If a tour needs to change because of the rain or a festival, we just deal with it. It’s just how we do things here in Andheri. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot over the years, but our little corner in Malvani stays pretty much the same. It's a busy place but we manage to get the work done between tea breaks.
