If you are walking around Fort and see the big Bata shop, you are pretty much at our doorstep. We are on the first floor of the Gulab Building, at number 243. The stairs are a bit steep and old, but that is common for this part of the city. Inside, it is mostly desks covered in folders and a few old calendars hanging on the walls. We spend the day looking at routes and checking schedules on the computer. It is mostly a lot of phone calls and typing. Sometimes the internet is slow or a booking gets complicated, and we just have to sit there and figure it out. It is not a flashy place with posters of beaches everywhere, just a functional space where we handle the tickets and the paperwork. We have been in this building for a while, so we know the people in the other offices. Usually, someone brings in tea around mid-morning. We try to keep things organized, but when it gets busy, the desk gets messy with scraps of paper and notes. People come in looking for a way to get from one place to another, and we do what we can with what is available. The noise from the street below comes up through the windows, so it is never really silent. It is just a regular office where we do our daily work and hope the traffic isn't too bad when we head home at the end of the day.
