Barretto Tours

We operate Barretto Tours from Shop No 955 inside the Shanta Ram Building over in Wadala. It’s a small shop, but it serves our needs just fine. Most people know the area because we are right opposite Sainath Bar and Restaurant, which is a big local landmark. We spend our days looking at maps and booking tickets for people who want to get away for a bit. The shop usually smells like the tea we drink while we wait for the printer to finish. Wadala is a busy place, and there is always a lot of noise from the street, but inside the Shanta Ram Building, we just focus on the travel itineraries. We’ve got some old posters on the walls and a couple of desks that have seen better days. It isn’t a polished corporate office, just a place where we do our work and talk to customers about where they want to go. Sometimes the neighbors from the other shops pop in for a chat. We handle all kinds of trip details, trying to make sure the dates and times all line up right. It’s a lot of checking and re-checking. When the lunch rush hits the bar across the street, the whole road gets quite lively. We just keep doing our thing, helping one person at a time with their travel plans. It’s a modest way to earn a living in a part of Mumbai we know well and have been in for quite a long time now.
