Our office is up on the first floor of the Veena Beena Shopping Centre. If you come by train, you just walk across from the station and we are right there. It is a busy place, especially in the mornings when the commuters are rushing everywhere. We have been in this spot for a while now, tucked away in unit 122. The hallway is usually quiet compared to the street outside, which is a relief. We do a lot of different things as a group, handling various business matters that keep us busy from morning till evening. There are stacks of files on the desks and the tea lady comes around twice a day, which is the highlight for most of us. We aren't big on fancy decorations or anything after all. The walls have a few calendars and the furniture is sturdy enough for the work we do. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit and talk until the backup kicks in. It is just a group of people working together to keep everything running smoothly. Dealing with the railway station crowds every day can be a lot, but you get used to the rhythm of the trains. We mostly just focus on our tasks and make sure the paperwork is in order before we head home. It is a practical way to spend the day in a busy part of town. It feels like home now.
