We are located in Shop No.-38 inside the Mirza Galib Market. It’s right in Loban Gully, which is part of the old Null Bazar Market area. If you’ve ever been here, you know how narrow the lanes are and how packed it gets with people and goods. Our shop is quite small, but we pack a lot into it. It’s been in this spot for ages, and the walls are covered with things we’ve collected over the years. It’s a very traditional environment. We don’t have a computer system or a digital display; we still do most things the old-way with paper and pencil. The market is always loud with sellers calling out and people bargaining, and we’re right in the middle of that music. It’s a bit dark inside the shop because the buildings are so close together, but we have some bright lights to show off what we have. We sit on small stools and talk to anyone who stops by. It’s a very personal way of doing things. We know our neighbors, and we know the history of the gully. It’s not the most comfortable place to work because of the heat and the crowds, but there’s a spirit here that you won’t find in a modern shopping mall. We just keep doing what we’ve always done, one day at a time, making sure that every customer who walks through the door gets our full attention and a bit of a chat. It’s the kind of place where you have to watch your step but you always find something interesting.
