Aura Chocos is based at 34 Marine Drive. Being right by the water means we get a good breeze most days, which is a nice change from the heat of the city. The building at number 34 is one of those classic old structures that face the sea. It’s not a massive space we have, just a couple of rooms where we do all our chocolate work. We keep the windows shut most of the time because the salt air and the humidity aren't very good for the products. In the late afternoon, the sun reflects off the Arabian Sea and makes everything very bright. We don't have any flashy signs or big logos on the door. It’s a quiet operation compared to the busy promenade right outside. You can hear the cars driving along Marine Drive all day and night. We spend our time checking orders, tempering chocolate, and packing things up into boxes. It’s mostly just quiet, repetitive work. We’ve been at this address for a while and we’ve gotten used to the way the building feels. Sometimes the elevator is a bit slow, so we just take the stairs. There isn't any corporate feel to the place at all. It’s just us in a small room by the ocean, trying to keep things organized. We don't have a big team, so we all end up doing a bit of everything, from cleaning the counters to answering the door. It’s a modest way to work and the view helps on long days.
