Ashok Patil Flowers Shop

If you head down to the 6th Cross in the 6th Block of the 2nd Stage in Jogeshwari East, you’ll find us. Ashok Patil Flowers Shop is just a straightforward place where we handle whatever the season brings. Some days it’s all marigolds for festivals, and other days we’re mostly dealing with roses that have too many thorns. The shop isn't very large, so we have to be organized with how we stack the crates. Usually, the tea stall nearby is where we grab a quick drink while waiting for the morning delivery. Jogeshwari East is a crowded place, and our corner gets its fair share of the noise. We don’t have a big mission statement or anything like that; we just show up, trim the dead leaves, and make sure the buckets are full of clean water. The floor is made of old stone and gets stained from the flower dye over time. We use a lot of thread for the garlands, and you’ll see bits of it all over our clothes by lunchtime. It’s hard work on the feet, standing all day on the hard ground. People from the surrounding blocks know us by name, and we know who likes what without them having to ask much. It’s just the way a neighborhood shop works. We keep the shutters up until late, especially when there’s a wedding nearby and someone needs an extra bundle of greens.
