Aschtech Engineers operates out of 25-F in the Govt.I.E. at Charkop. Being in a government industrial estate means there’s always noise from the neighboring units, whether it’s welding or heavy machinery running. Our shop is no different. We’ve got a lot of metal stock leaning against the walls and tools spread across the workbenches. It feels like a proper engineering spot where things actually get built. We don't spend much time in clean clothes; usually, there's a bit of grease or metal dust on everyone by noon. We work on a lot of different parts, so the blueprints on the table are always changing. Some days we’re focused on one big piece of equipment, and other days it’s a hundred small components that all need to be exactly right. We don't have a receptionist or a lobby. If someone comes by, they usually just walk up to the main door and yell over the noise to get our attention. We’ve been in Charkop for a long time and we like the atmosphere of the estate. It’s a place where people actually work with their hands. We don't have a big philosophy about engineering; we just look at the drawings and make the parts. Lunch is usually eaten quick so we can get back to the machines. It’s a loud, busy, and sometimes dirty job, but it’s what we know how to do best in this little corner of the estate.
