Our place, Aryan Art, is tucked away in Masood Estate over in Kurla West. If you know where the Bank of Baroda is, we are right near there in Gala No C 87/89. It’s more of a workshop feel than a proper showroom. There is usually dust on the floor and the sound of tools or people moving things around. The estate is always crowded with trucks and tempos trying to squeeze through the narrow lanes all afternoon. We’ve been in this gala for quite a while now. It’s a bit cramped when we have a lot of work going on at once, but we make it work somehow. We don't really bother with decorations or nice furniture, just sturdy tables and some metal shelves for our supplies. Sometimes the water is a bit slow in the pipes or the lights flicker when the machines start, but that’s just part of being in an old industrial estate. We spend our days mostly focused on whatever project is currently sitting on the table. It gets hot in the afternoons, so we keep the doors wide open for a bit of a breeze. People come in and out, mostly delivery guys or neighbors from the other units nearby. It’s a hardworking environment where nobody really wears a suit or tie. We just get our hands dirty and finish what needs finishing. It’s a noisy, busy life here in Kurla, but it suits us fine most days.
