Juhu has a different feel compared to the rest of Mumbai. Our base is in the Juhu Apartments, situated right behind the old Lido Cinema. It is an iconic spot, though the building itself is just a regular place where we work. Santacruz West always has something going on, and the salt air from the sea definitely affects the equipment. We spend most of our time dealing with tight spaces and narrow roads. Construction in this part of the city can be a headache because parking a truck is almost impossible. Having lived here a long time, we know the shortcuts and how to talk to the neighbors. You won't find corporate types in suits here. We are usually in boots and jeans with cement dust on our shirts. This office is just a place to store files and hide from the humidity. We don't use big words to describe the work. We just build. When the monsoons shut us down for weeks, we just sit and wait for the rain to stop. That is just how things go in Mumbai. We do our best with the tools we have and keep projects moving. Every day brings a new set of problems to solve on the site. It is a crowded city, but we find a way to make it work.
