Arman Leather Art

We are tucked away in Shop No. 7 at Tulsidas Gopal Chawl. It’s over in Kalakilla. Arman Leather Art is what we call ourselves. The area is Survey No. 86/ 56. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze in the chawl, but we make it work. Leather work takes up a lot of space, so we have to be careful where we put things. There’s always stuff piled up. We’ve been in this part of Dh for a while. It’s not a shiny showroom. It’s where the actual work happens. You can smell the leather as soon as you get close to the door. We spend all day here. Sometimes we work late if there’s a lot to do. It’s just me and a couple of others. We don't really have a front desk. If someone comes by, they just talk to whoever is free. We do things by hand mostly. It’s a lot of sitting and focusing. The light isn't always great, but we have our lamps. Kalakilla is a place where people know each other. We fit right in with the other shops. Arman Leather Art isn't a big corporation. It's just a local business in a small shop. We keep our tools sharp and our heads down. That's how we spend our weeks. It is honest work and we are happy to be doing it here.
