Arfi Travels

Our travel shop is at Shop No 39 A on P D Mello Road. We’re near the Masjid and the Vrinda Arvind Society in Modi Baug, not too far from the Siddivinayak Hotel in Pune. It’s a small place, mostly just a couple of desks and a lot of brochures and maps pinned to the walls. We spend most of our day on the phone or looking at booking screens. People come in to ask about train tickets, flights, or maybe a bus to the next town. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s interesting to hear where everyone is going. The shop gets a bit busy in the evenings when people are heading home from work and stop in to check on their plans. We have a tea stall nearby, so there’s always a cup of chai on someone’s desk. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze when more than two customers are inside, but we make it work. We’ve been here in Pune for a while and know the local routes pretty well. There’s no big fancy website or anything, just us sitting here helping folks get from one place to another. Sometimes the internet is slow or the systems are down, and we just have to wait it out and chat with whoever is in the shop. It’s just a regular local business trying to help the neighborhood move around.
