Arbuda Kesar Co

Arbuda Kesar Co is tucked away on the 2nd Floor of a building in Kalbadevi. Specifically, we are in Room No 35 at 52/58. Kalbadevi is one of those places where the streets are always full of people and goods being moved on carts. It’s an old part of town with a lot of history. Being on the second floor means it’s a bit quieter than the street level, but you still hear the horns and the shouting from below all day. We deal with kesar, or saffron, which is a very delicate thing. It’s not like selling bricks or car parts. You have to be careful with the smell and the moisture. The room isn't very large, but it’s enough for what we do. We have some regular customers from Baramti who visit us when they are in the city for business. We spend a lot of time weighing things out and packing them into small containers. It’s a slow, careful kind of job. We don’t have any fancy mission statements or big promises. We just sell the saffron we have in stock. Sometimes the stairs are a bit much if you’re carrying a lot, but we’re used to it by now. It’s just a small office in a big, busy building, and we’ve been here for years doing the same thing every day. We hope to stay here for many more years because the location works well for our regular visitors.
