Anugraha Commuters

Our office is in Room Number 118 at the Sambhaji Chawl in Dharavi, specifically near Mohammed Ali Road. It’s a very active part of town, always full of people and vehicles moving in every direction. Working at Anugraha Commuters means we are right in the middle of all that chaos every single day. The room itself is quite small, which is typical for the chawl, but it serves its purpose for our commuting business. We have a lot of people coming in and out to talk about transport or check on timings. The air outside is always thick with the smell of food and the sound of horns. It’s definitely not a quiet place to work, but we like the energy of Dharavi. We have a couple of benches for people to wait on and a table where the main diary stays. Most of the day is spent on the mobile phone, talking to drivers and making sure everyone is getting to where they need to go. It’s a lot of coordination and sometimes things get a bit messy when the traffic is particularly bad on Mohammed Ali Road. We don’t have a website or anything like that, just our presence here in the room. People know us by word of mouth and because we’ve been in this spot for a long time. It is a busy life but it is what we do.
