Anthurium

Our shop, Anthurium, is on the ground floor of Muni Building. If you know where the Navakaal Printing Press is in Girgaon, we are right near there. It’s a busy little area and you can usually hear the rhythmic sounds from the press when they are working hard on the next day's papers. We started this because we actually liked working with our hands and being around nature. The shop isn't huge, but it's enough for what we do every day. We spend a lot of time cleaning up stems and old leaves and making sure the floor isn't too wet from the buckets. Being in Girgaon means we get a lot of local folks walking by on their way to work or home in the evenings. Sometimes they stop in just to look around for a minute or ask a question about a plant they have at home. We try to keep things simple and practical. It’s a lot of early mornings because the fresh stock comes in before the sun is even up most days. The Muni Building is an old one, so it has that specific old-building feel to it. Sometimes the lights flicker a bit or the heavy door creaks on its hinges, but we really like it here. It feels like home to us after all these years. We don't have any big corporate goals or fancy plans. We just want to stay open and keep everything healthy. It's messy work sometimes, getting dirt under your fingernails and dealing with heavy water buckets, but it’s what we do. If you're passing the printing press, just look for the ground floor unit. We're usually around and busy with something.
