Annabelle S Cupcakes & Happiness

This little shop in Evershine Nagar is where we spend most of our time. It’s called Annabelle S Cupcakes & Happiness, which is a bit of a long name, but it fits what we do. We’re tucked away in Shop No.1 in Malad West. It isn't a huge space, so things can get a bit cramped when we’re baking a lot of orders at once. There’s usually flour on the floor and the smell of sugar in the air all day long. We started this because we just liked baking at home and it grew into this. It’s mostly just a few of us back there mixing batter and icing cakes by hand. We don't use big machines for everything because we like doing it ourselves. Sometimes the cupcakes don't look perfectly identical, but that's because a person made them, not a robot. We get a lot of kids coming in after school and some of the older folks from the nearby buildings. We try to keep things friendly. If we’re having a bad day, you might see it on our faces, but we try to keep it together. Running a bakery is harder than it looks, especially with the heat in the kitchen. But we like seeing people walk out with a box and a smile. It’s just a small shop in Malad where we do our best with what we have every single day.
