Ami Ice Cream Parlour

We’ve been here in Ghatkopar East for a good while now. Our shop is right in Marwadi Mohollo, which gets pretty crowded in the evenings. It’s a simple place, honestly. We open up the shutters around noon and start by checking the freezers because you never know with the power around here. Ami Ice Cream Parlour isn't some big fancy place with waiters or anything like that. It’s just a small shop where you can get a cold treat. I spend a lot of my day just wiping down the counters and talking to the neighbors. Most people who come in live right around the corner. We see the same faces every day. The kids from the school nearby usually show up around four and make a lot of noise picking out what they want. Sometimes the ice cream gets really hard in the back of the freezer and it's a real struggle to scoop it out. My wrist actually hurts by the time we close at night. The lights inside aren't the brightest but they work fine. We don't have a lot of space for sitting, just a couple of stools that lean a bit to one side. We kept the old sign even though the paint is peeling a little bit on the edges. People seem to find us anyway. It’s just how things are run here in the mohollo. No fuss, just ice cream.
