Ambika Flowers Mart

Ambika Flowers Mart is situated in Bandra East, right within the Bandra Kurla Complex area near the Sai Baba Mandir. It is a spot that always smells like jasmine and roses, which is nice compared to the car exhaust outside. We start very early in the morning when the fresh crates arrive. There is usually water on the floor from the buckets and bits of green stems scattered around. It is a busy little shop, especially when people are going to the mandir nearby to leave offerings. We don't have a fancy showroom; it is mostly just buckets and racks of flowers. Our hands are usually stained from the plants and we spend a lot of time trimming leaves. The humidity can get high in here because of all the water, but it keeps the flowers looking okay. It is a local place where people stop by on their way to work or home. Sometimes we run out of certain colors by midday if it is a festival time. The BKC area is always moving fast, but our corner feels a bit different with all the colors. We have been here for quite some time, and the regulars know exactly where to find us. It is not a corporate flower boutique, just a mart where we sell what is fresh that day. We keep the doors open and the fans going to keep the air moving as much as possible.
