Ambika Bag House

Ambika Bag House is right at 321, just across from Crawford Market in Masjid Bunder West. If you know that area, you know how busy it gets. It’s constant noise and people moving around all day long. Our shop has been here through all the changes in the neighborhood. We mostly deal in all kinds of bags. Suitcases, school bags, hand-carry ones—you name it. Since we are right near the market, things can get a bit hectic in the afternoons. We stack the bags up to the ceiling to save space. Sometimes it’s hard to reach the top ones without a ladder, which can be a bit of a hassle. It’s a very straightforward business. We aren't interested in being fancy or looking corporate. The floor is old, and the walls could probably use some paint, but the bags are good. People come from all over because they know we are right here. We don't spend money on ads or anything. Word of mouth works fine for us. We open pretty early to catch the morning crowd. It’s a lot of work, but we like being in the heart of Masjid Bunder. There’s always something happening outside the door. If you need a bag for a long trip or just for school, we probably have it somewhere in the pile. Just ask one of us. We're usually standing around the front. It’s just a plain bag shop, nothing more.
