Alfa Ice Cream

Alfa Ice Cream is tucked away in Byculla at 5th Cross, right near where it meets the 1st Main in Maruthi Extension. This part of the city gets quite busy during the day with all the traffic and people moving about their business. We have been operating out of this small space for a good bit of time now. The shop is not much to look at from the outside, just a door and a window where you can see what is available for the day. Inside, we have the freezer units lined up against the wall to keep everything frozen. We spend a lot of our morning checking the stock and making sure the lids are on tight. The afternoon heat in Byculla can be something else, so it is always a relief when the sun starts to set and the air cools down. We get a lot of regulars from Maruthi Extension who just want a quick snack on their way home from work. Some people stay for a bit and chat about the weather or the news, but most are in a bit of a hurry to get where they are going. We do not have a big team, just a couple of us who know where everything is kept. Sometimes we run out of certain things before the next delivery comes in, which is always a bit of a headache for us. 5th Cross has its own rhythm and we have just become part of the background here over the years.
