Our little travel office is at Office No 5 inside the Ghori Traders building. We are over in Jogeshwari West, right near the Sitaladevi area and not a long walk from the railway station. It’s a busy part of town, so there’s always noise from the street coming in. We spend our days looking at schedules and helping people figure out their trips. There are stacks of folders on the desks and maps pinned to the walls that are probably a bit old now. We don’t have fancy leather chairs or anything like that, just some basic seating for when people come in to talk about their travel plans. Sometimes the phone rings off the hook and other times it’s quiet enough to hear the fan buzzing. We handle a lot of the paperwork that comes with going on tours, which can be a bit tedious but it’s part of the job. Most of the people who come to us are locals who live nearby. We know the shortcut from the station, which helps when we're running late. It’s just a plain room where we sit and work through the bookings one by one. We’ve been in this spot for a while and we’re used to the rhythm of the neighborhood. It’s a practical place for a practical business where we keep track of itineraries and tickets.
