We are over here at 327 Jumma Masjid Janjikar Street, just right across the way from Mangaldas Market. If you know this part of the city, you know it gets pretty crowded and loud with all the people coming and going. Our spot is tucked in there among the other shops. We've been operating out of this building for a bit now, and honestly, the walls have seen a lot of different seasons. It isn't a fancy place with big glass windows or anything like that. Just a regular shop where we keep things moving. Mostly we deal with what's on the shelves and try to keep track of everything coming in from the market side. Sometimes the traffic on Janjikar Street makes it hard to get deliveries through, so we end up carrying things by hand quite a bit. It’s just how it goes here. The neighbors are mostly other business folks who have been around as long as we have. We open up early because that’s when the area starts waking up. It’s a lot of work keeping things organized in such a tight space, but we manage. People stop by after they finish their shopping across the street. We don't spend much time on decorations. Most of our day is just spent checking stock and talking to the folks who walk in off the street. It feels like home to us, even with all the noise.
