Akm Engg Industries

Being located at 33/1 Ismail Bldg means we are right in the thick of things in Pathakwadi. Akm Engg Industries has been operating out of this corner of Lohar Chawl for quite a bit. The Fort area is always moving, and we are part of that constant noise. Our workshop is full of heavy things. We have benches that have been here longer than I have. The walls are a bit stained from the grease, but that's what happens when you're working with metal all day. We don't have a receptionist or a waiting room. If you come by, you'll likely find us in the back with our sleeves rolled up. We handle a lot of different engineering tasks, mostly stuff people can't find elsewhere. It’s a bit of a maze getting to us through the narrow lanes, especially when the rain starts. We spend a lot of time checking measurements and making sure the machines are running right. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit and talk until it comes back. It's a simple life. We don't spend money on advertising because the people who need us usually know where Ismail Bldg is. We just focus on the job at hand and try to get it right. It’s hard work, but we like being in the middle of the city's trade. We just keep our heads down and work until the shutters go down.
