If you find yourself on S V P Road near Sajjianrao Road in V V Puram, you’ll see our small sign for Ajmeri Tours & Travels. We’re at number 265/7/A. It’s an old building, but it works for what we do. We’ve been here quite some time now, helping people figure out their travel plans. Usually, it's just a lot of talking on the phone and writing down names in our ledgers. We have an old computer but we still like to keep paper records just in case. The street outside is always loud with traffic and people walking to the market. Sometimes it gets so noisy we have to close the front door just to hear the customers. We handle all sorts of things, from bus tickets to longer trips across the state. It’s a family-run thing mostly. My brother helps out on the weekends when it gets extra busy with people planning their leaves. We don’t have fancy uniforms or a lobby with air conditioning. There are just a few chairs and a table where we sit and go over the details. It's a bit dusty because of the construction nearby, but we clean up every morning before opening. People know us as the place to get things done without too much fuss. We just keep our heads down and work. We usually have some music playing softly in the background to drown out the car horns from the main road.
