Sunrise Handicrafts

Our shop, Sunrise Handicrafts, is right across from the Circuit House on Delhi Road. It’s a busy spot with all the cars and trucks zooming by all day long. Sometimes the noise makes it hard to hear ourselves think, but you get used to it. We’ve been in this location for quite a while. The building isn't much to look at from the outside, but inside we’ve got plenty of stuff going on. We work on various crafts, mostly using whatever materials we can get our hands on that week. It’s a bit disorganized at times, with piles of wood or metal scraps in the corners. We try to tidy up on Saturdays, but by Monday it's usually a mess again. That is just the nature of the work we do here. My brother and I handle most of the daily tasks. We don't have fancy titles or anything. We just get the orders done. The Delhi Road area is changing a lot, with new buildings going up, but we’re still here doing the same things we’ve done for years. It’s steady work. We don't make a big deal out of it. If someone needs something made, they stop by and we talk about it over a cup of tea. We don't use a lot of big machines, mostly just hand tools that have seen better days but still work fine for what we need.
