About Ali Art International – Art & Craft in Moradabad
Tavela Street is where we work. It’s House No. 50/E-12. We do art pieces. My father started it years ago. We have a small crew. It's mostly handwork. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just sit outside for a bit. We don't have a big showroom. Most people find us through word of mouth. We use wood and some metals. It gets dusty in the workshop, but that’s how it goes when you’re making things. We try to finish things on time but sometimes things take longer if the wood isn't drying right. We aren't a big factory. It’s just us here every morning from nine till late. The street can get pretty crowded with the carts passing by. We make things that we think look good. Usually, it's decorative stuff for homes. We don’t do much advertising. People just come by the house. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot over twenty years. Some of the old shops are gone now. We’re still here though. We handle everything from the cutting to the finishing. It’s hard work on the hands. But it pays the bills and keeps the family going. We don't have a fancy website or anything. If you want to see what we make, you just come to Tavela Street. We’ll show you the current batch we are working on in the back room. It’s simple.
