Export Corporation

We’ve been running the Export Corporation out of B-699 in Lajpat Nagar for quite a few years. Lajpat Nagar is a busy area, so there is always a lot of noise from the market nearby. Our space is tucked away from the main road, which is nice because it’s a little quieter for doing the paperwork. We handle all sorts of goods that need to go to different places. It’s a lot of organizing and keeping track of containers. The office is basically just a few desks and a lot of shelves filled with old ledgers. We haven’t changed the furniture in a long time, so it has that lived-in feel. The ceiling fan wobbles a bit when it’s on high, but it keeps the room cool enough. We have a small pantry where we make coffee and sometimes heat up our tiffins. There are three of us who handle the main part of the business. We don't really have a hierarchy. Everyone just does what needs to be done. Sometimes we stay late when a shipment is delayed, just waiting for a call to confirm everything is okay. It’s not a glamorous life, but it’s what we know. We like being in this part of town because everything we need is close by. We just focus on the daily tasks and making sure the documents are correct.
