Sharma Handicrafts

Sharma Handicrafts is situated in Nehru Colony, just off Kanth Road in the Harthala area. It’s a local neighborhood, and our workshop is right in the middle of things. You can usually hear the sound of tools being used if you walk past. We do a lot of different types of handicraft work here. It’s not a factory with big machines. It’s mostly people sitting down and working on things by hand. The floors are often covered in wood shavings or bits of metal, depending on what we are making that week. Nehru Colony is a friendly place. We know the people at the tea stall down the street and the other shop owners nearby. Kanth Road is always busy with trucks and rickshaws, so there’s a constant hum in the background. We don’t have a marketing department or a big office. Most of the space is taken up by the things we are making. We just try to get the work done on time so we can send it out. Sometimes it gets a bit stressful when we have a big order, but we usually manage. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy. We’ve lived and worked in this part of town for years, and we’re just a regular part of the local scene here in Harthala. We don't make a big fuss about things, we just keep our heads down and continue with our daily tasks.
