Raju Hair Salon

This shop is located on Sardhana Road in the Kanker Khera market area of Meerut. It’s a very local spot near Defence Colony. I have been running Raju Hair Salon for many years now. The market is always loud and crowded, especially in the evenings. My shop is just a small unit with a couple of chairs. We focus on men's grooming. Haircuts, beard trims, and sometimes a face scrub if someone asks for it. I keep it very simple. I don't have any fancy signs or neon lights. Just the name painted on the front. The people who come here are mostly from the colony or the nearby market shops. We talk about the local news or the weather while I work. I use basic tools that I've had for a long time. They work fine. The floor is concrete and the walls are just painted plain blue. It gets hot in the summer, but the breeze from the door helps a bit. I don't have a big team, it's just me and one boy who helps with the cleaning and shaves. We open early and stay late. Meerut is a tough city, you have to work hard to stay in business. I am glad I have my regulars. They keep the shop going. Sometimes we share a samosa from the vendor next door during the afternoon lull. It’s not a fancy life but it’s ours. The scissors need sharpening every week.
