Alka Hair Saloon

We are located on Shivaji Marg in Meerut, not very far from Nas College. Being near a college means we see a lot of young students coming in for a cut, alongside the older residents who have lived in this area forever. Alka Hair Saloon is a very basic shop. We’ve got the standard mirrors, chairs, and combs. It gets quite busy in the mornings when the students are heading to their classes and again in the late evenings. The street outside is always moving, so there is plenty to look at through the front window when we aren't busy. We keep things very plain here. No expensive products or complicated styles that you can't maintain. People just want to look tidy and presentable. We’ve been here for many years, and the shop has a bit of an old, comfortable feel to it. The floor is often covered in hair because we don't always have time to sweep it all up between every single person when the shop is packed. We do our best to keep up with the mess. It’s a friendly place, and there is always some conversation going on about cricket or the local politics of Meerut. We don't have any big goals other than keeping the shop running and seeing our regular faces. It’s a simple way to make a living for us. We open up six days a week and take a rest when we can. That’s just the way it is.
