Nikhar Hair Salon

Nikhar Hair Salon is located on Ambedkar Road in the Kanker Khera area of Meerut. We are very close to Lord Buddha Public School and the Kankerkhera market. Because of the school nearby, we see a lot of kids and parents passing by every morning and afternoon. The market is always a busy place, so there is no shortage of people walking around. Our salon is a small space where men come for their grooming. We have a couple of chairs that have been with us for years. The walls are painted a simple color and we have shelves for our scissors and combs. It gets dusty because of the road outside, so we are always wiping things down. We don't have a lot of workers, usually just two or three of us. We talk about local things, like how the traffic on Ambedkar Road is getting worse or what’s happening in the market. It’s a straightforward business. We don't try to be something we are not. People come in, sit down, get their hair cut, and go about their day. We keep the fans running to deal with the Meerut heat. Sometimes we have a queue of people sitting on the bench waiting, especially on Sundays. We just take them one by one and try to keep everyone happy with a clean shave or a neat trim.
