New Naushad Hair Saloon has been a part of the Kaseru Khera main market in Meerut for quite some time. If you walk down the main market road, you’ll see our sign. It isn’t a very big shop, but it’s enough for what we do. We have the usual setup with the big mirrors and the adjustable chairs that have seen better days. The neighborhood is always active, so there’s always something to look at out the front door. We handle the daily rush of people looking for a quick trim before they go about their business. It gets quite hot in the afternoons, but we have a couple of sturdy fans that keep things tolerable. We don’t use any of those expensive products you find in the malls. Just regular soap, water, and some decent aftershave that smells like it should. Most of our customers are regulars who have been coming to us since they were kids. Now they bring their own sons. It’s nice to see the generations pass through. We keep the shop open late most nights because that’s when the workers finish their shifts. There’s no need to book an appointment or anything. You just show up and take a seat on the bench. We’ll get to you when it’s your turn. It’s a simple life running a shop in Meerut. We just focus on the task at hand and try to keep the blades sharp. That is how we spend our days here.
