New Lavina Beauty Parlour

Our shop, New Lavina, is right in Rajban Bazar. It is at number 259 in Karai Ganj, right next to the petrol pump. You cannot miss the smell of petrol and the noise of the bikes all day. It is a loud area but we have gotten used to it. The parlour has been here for a good while. We mostly do threading and quick hair fixes for the ladies. A lot of women stop by while they are out shopping for groceries in the bazar. It is convenient for them. The room is a bit narrow, so we have to be careful when moving around each other. We have some old posters on the wall from a few years back. They look a bit faded now but we leave them up. My daughter helps me on Saturdays. We do not have a big sign, just a small one over the door. The floor tiles are a bit cracked in the corner, but we covered it with a blue mat. It is just a place to get things done without spending too much money. We drink a lot of chai during the day. Sometimes we close early if the market is slow or if there is a festival. There is no fancy waiting room, just a couple of plastic chairs. It gets hot in the summer because the sun hits the front of the shop. We just keep the door open and let the breeze in from the street. It is a simple life here in Meerut.
