Moon Hair Salon

If you're walking through the Lalkurti Bazar in Meerut, you'll find our shop at Govind Plaza. We are in shop number 5, right down Gali No-3. It's a very busy part of the town, situated right opposite the Metro Hospital. Moon Hair Salon has been around for a good while. We aren't a large establishment or anything like that. Just a few chairs and the basic tools we need for hair cutting. We get a lot of foot traffic because of the hospital and the bazaar being so close. Men often come in for a quick shave or a haircut before they head off to their jobs or after they finish their shopping. The plaza itself is usually crowded with people. We keep the front door open most of the time just to let some fresh air in. It gets quite noisy with the traffic and people shouting outside in the street, but that's just how Lalkurti is. We don't have a receptionist at the front. You just walk in, see if a chair is free, and sit yourself down. If not, there are a couple of plastic chairs where you can wait. We have some old magazines lying around, though nobody really looks at them much anymore; they just look at their phones. We do our best to keep things clean, but hair gets everywhere when it’s a busy day. It’s a simple life for us here. We know the other shopkeepers in the plaza well. We share tea and talk about the weather.
